U15 Boys Div. 2 League Final;
The 3G in Breffni was the venue for the Division 2 league final against Castlerahan on Friday night last. Conditions were perfect for football and Cuchulainns made the most of it. After conceding an early goal, Cuchulainns soon stamped their authority on this game and went in at half time seven points to the good. It was more of the same in the second half as Cuchulainns ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 5-14 to 1-06. A great team performance and congratulations to all 28 players on a great league campaign with every player playing a part through the competition.

Reserves;
Our reserves had Ballinagh as visitors to Mullagh on Saturday evening last. After a slow start we started to take control and in second half we scored a couple of well taken goals to come away with the win. There were very good performances from all the young players and also our experienced players did well. We now have 2 games this week v Mountnugent and Cootehill.

U14 Girls;
It was a busy week for our U14 girls as they had a number of games to play to catch up on games postponed due to the weather and unplayable pitches.
First up the girls were away to Gowna on Monday evening. The girls got off to a good start against a physically strong Gowna team and worked hard in the first half to go into the break 3-07 to 0-04 to the good. Gowna came out in the second half and really put the pressure on our girls but they dug in and defended really well and ran out winners on a final score line of 2-10: 6-08.
Next up was a home game against Kingscourt on Wednesday evening. This game would determine their final position in the league table. Again the girls got off to a great start and kept the pressure on Kingscourt throughout the first half and finished the half 7-04: 2-00. A number of changes were made at half time and the girls carried on were they left off and ran out comfortable winners on a final score of 9-07: 3-01. This but our girls top of Division 2 and gave them a home semi-final against Lavey.
On warm and sunny Saturday afternoon the girls hosted Lavey in the semi-final who they had lost to earlier in the group stages. The first 10 mins of the first half were tight with both teams showing some nerves with a number of wides been kicked. However, once our girls started to find the target they settled into the game well and our defence didn’t give an inch to the Lavey players. At the break they were leading 2-12: 0-01. Again a number of changes were made during the break but the girls kept going and ran out comfortable winner 5-17: 1-02.
The girls are now in the U14 Division 2 final against Gowna. Time, date and venue for the final to be confirmed.
Well done girls. You deserve your place in final.
