U13 BOYS

Our u13 boys played a well matched game of football against Magheracloone in Cross on Saturday. Both teams had their first outing of the year and great teamwork was put on display by our boys. An entertaining and sporting game of football. Well done to both teams.

U15 BOYS
Well done to the 20 players who played excellently and represented the club with pride at the Christopher Shields Tournament. Cuchulainns Blue were unlucky to come up short against Lavey. Cuchulainns White made it to the shield semi final after two impressive wins only to come up short in extra time by a point to Bailieborough. Well done to all the players and many thanks to all the coaches, supporters and parents for your encouragement and support.

U21’s

Our U21 players played in their final game of the inaugural U21 league in Kingscourt on Bank Holiday Monday. Unfortunately 48 hours after our victory against Killinkere our lads were unable to progress to the final of the competition, as an impressive Kingscourt team won comfortably on a scoreline of  3;19 to 2;9.

The value of this competition was demonstrated by the passion shown by the large number of players who enjoyed playing in a competitive league game. This can only help to further develop the playing base in all clubs who have entered a team in this competition. All our U21 players will now progress to playing more regular competitive football with our Junior B Division 1 team or for our senior team.

RESERVES
Our adult Junior team started their Division 1 League campaign by hosting Ramor United in Edwin Carolan Community park on Thursday night last. After a closely contested first half a more experienced and older Ramor team won comfortably; 2;12 – 0;7. Our next league game will be away to Castlerahen on Saturday 30th at 4pm. Playing in Division 1 should prove to be very beneficial for any player who has any aspirations of playing at a higher level. All support welome.
SENIORS
Best wishes to Micheal Tynan, our senior management team and our Senior players as they commence their Division 2 campaign in Cornafean on Sunday 31st at 12 noon. All support will be welcome.

Work behind the scene has continued on all fronts with regards to our proposed new development.

– We are awaiting confirmation on the relocation of an ESB substation on the Mullagh town side of our site. This is essential to accommodate our proposed plans.

– The tendering process for the development of a new adult pitch has commenced.

We plan to commence work this Spring and have this pitch ready for action in the Summer of 2020.

– The planning for a biodiversity walkway around the perimeter of the site is under progressing. We are in the process of receiving tenders from consultants interested in producing a feasibility study for this exciting project.

You will be able to view aerial images of the site via our social media and website soon.

Our annual Clg Cuchulainn club St Patrick Day Mass has become a real highlight of St Patrick Days celebration in our Parish. Sincere thanks to Fr John for his generosity and cooperation, to Leanne Monaghan who mesmerized the congregation ‘as gaeilge’, to the many players who read the Prayers of the Faithful, the gift bearers and to the catering team who provided for the masses after Mass in the Heritage Centre. Go Raibh Míle Maith Agaibh.

Sincere thanks to all the children and adults who helped in any way in participating in our ‘float’ at the St Patricks Day Parade. The theme of our float was to celebrate our 50th Birthday.
