Cuchulainns claimed their third win in a row in the Reserve Div 1 league after a hard fought match with Ballyhaise in Drumalee on Sunday last. In blustery conditions it was Cuchulainns who settled the better and straight from Paul Tully winning the throw up his Mid field counter part Kieran Taite split the Ballyhaise defence and slotted over.

Cuchulainns followed up quickly with another point from David Carolan, with Ballyhaise following suit sharply after and drawing level. Carolan followed up with another point before the half as well as Shane Smith adding 2 to the tally. Ballyhaise notched up another point before half time, leaving it 3 points to 5 in Cuchulainns favour with the strong breeze against them in the second half.
Shortly after the restart Ballyhaise notched up another point to which Cuchulainns responded to with a goal from Carolan. The rest of the half was a tight affair with Ballyhaise scoring two more before Cuchulainns earned another point in the form of a great run from Paul Tully. Ballyhaise managed 2 further points in the second half leaving Cuchulainns the victors on the day with a final score of Ballyhaise 0-8 Cuchulainns 1-6.
Best for Cuchulainns on the day were John Woods who made a number of point blank saves. Paul Tully was also very impressive with a commanding performance around the middle while Gary Daly and Kevin O' Connell were outstanding in defence. Shane Smith and David Carolan looked dangerous every time they received the ball.
