Cuchulainns U15 boys left Breffni with the Christopher Shields trophy for the first time on Saturday last. After group wins over Drumloman Gaels and Killygarry, it was on to a group semi-final against Gowna. After an even start to the game Cuchulainns, took the upper hand to run out winners. Next up was a group final against Ballyhaise. The Cuchulainn boys took control of this game early and ran out comfortable winners. This set up the final against the earlier session winners St Josephs. It was the fourth game in a row for the Cuchulainn boys, but they dug deep and showed great character to win what was a tight game but a burst of goals in the second half left St Josephs with too much to do, and the Christopher Shields Memorial Trophy was on its way to Cross/Mullagh for the first time. All in Cuchulainns would like to thank the Shields family for a well-run day and it’s an honour to hold the trophy for the year.
