Our U14 girls played a challenge game in Killinkere  in extremely wet and cold conditions. Despite this the girls put in a great display of attacking football and a big measure of guts. They were losing by 1 point at half time.  In the second
half they scored two goals on the bounce and went on to win the game with a score of Cuchulinns 6-5  Killinkere 5-4. A big thanks to Killinkere for a thrilling match
Under 17 boys played Killygarry today. We played well and had some great plays and scores but weather conditions was wet with a few handling mistakes causing us to go behind which we couldn’t recover. Final score was 5 -12 to 3 -8 . Next up is Lough Oughter Gaels in Mullagh Saturday @2pm.

Mullagh Sports Partnership Development:

We are delighted to announce that Stage 1 of our development has been completed. Much of our funds from the I’m a Celebrity fundraiser have been carefully invested into completing Stage 1 our of project. This has involved the leveling of our site in preparation for the commencement of Stage 2. We are awaiting confirmation on the relocation of an ESB substation on the Mullagh town side of our site. This is essential to accommodate our proposed plans.

We will soon be commencing the tendering process for the development of a new adult pitch. We would plan to commence work this Spring and have this pitch ready for action in the Summer of 2020.

The planning for a biodiversity walkway around the perimeter of the site is under consideration. We have successfully passed the ‘expression of interest’ stage of application to the Leader Fund. We are planning to engage a consultant in developing a feasibility study for this exciting project.  We are very appreciative of the expert assistance we have received from Daphne Shackleton.

You will be able to view aerial images of the site via our social media and website soon.

Our U21 players game V’s Killinkere was postponed due to the untimely passing of Ger Clarke  Carnaveagh, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan. Ar dheis De go raibh a ainm.

Our U21 team have continued to train in preparation for their next game V’s Killygarry at home  next Saturday. The refixed game V’s Killinkere will be posted through usual media outlets asap.

Come and join us to launch our Clg Cuchulainn 50th year celebrations on Saturday 16th March in Kilians Lodge Hotel. In what is proposed to be a casual night in good company we are hoping to receive your opinion on how we might celebrate and commerate our 50th year in existence. Please come along.

Our annual Clg Cuchulainn club St Patrick Day Mass will take place at 11.30am mass in St Kilians Church, Mullagh. We would encourage all members to attend, to remember all former deceased members and to celebrate the many experiences we share together in our club. Please join us for some light refreshments and to catch up with the gossip in the St Kilians Heritage Centre after Mass.
