St Peter’s Warrenpoint of Down won the second Bank Of Ireland Ulster U21 Club Football Tournament Quarter Final at the hands of Assan Gaels of Cavan at Pairc Chiceam.
On a very windy day both sides had their periods of dominance but where inseparable after 60 minutes. They needed extra time to settle this tie and a 0-9 point haul from Donagh McAleenan was key to St Peter’s Warrenpoint edging ahead to clinch victory.
Despite McAleenan’s 9 points, Ciaran McCartan the Warrenpoint captain and centre back shown through and was named the Bank Of Ireland UK Man Of the Match for the match today. The award was presented by Paul Slevin of the Bank Of Ireland UK.
